Morro Bay

On Easter weekend my Mom, Sister and I went to San Louis Obisbo to explore my parents' "old stomping grounds". We started in the downtown area, ate dinner at a small little bar, then went to Morro Bay. This photo was taken just South of Morro Rock.

This is my first long exposure ocean scene, and it was quite a challenge. I am a desert rat, so the constantly changing tide and wave intensity was catching me off guard. I decided to take off the auto noise control so that it didn't take twice as long to get to my next photo.

Great experience. I cant wait to do more. I had a chance to work with my ND grad again, I am getting better at that. The other day I got a 3 stop ND grad for 8 bucks at the local camera shop, and two hoya ND4's for 13 bucks. I can't wait to get a chance to use them.

I did a bit to this image because it was under exposed and I needed to keep the noise in control. I did a couple of curves, levels and brightness layers. sharpened in lab, then with high pass in RGB after resizing.
